NEU Solutions designed and built this
bulk loading facility for a potentially hazardous material. The
system employs the inerting method of explosion prevention, with
atomised aluminium powder being handled in a closed loop nitrogen
conveying system. Instead of using air for pneumatic conveying the
inert gas, nitrogen is utilised. Additional security is achieved
by incorporating explosion relief panels in the silo roofs, which
lift off at 100 mbar g. This derived from an innovative approach
to the design of the “Null Point”, which automatically relieves
excess pressure. |
