Fairport NEU Solutions undertook this project for Polyflor, one of Europe’s leading PVC sheet flooring manufacturers. The total project has enabled Polyflor to manufacture two products on an existing production line, resulting in reduced manufacturing costs and increased sales revenue. Coloured, non-directional flooring is now produced, from PVC pellets, plasticisers and fillers, on the same production line as neutral, directional flooring. Major modification was necessary to achieve this situation, including by-passing a production stage to allow PVC pellets to be specifically processed for the additional product.

Fairport NEU Solutions' role included equipment and systems supply as well as integration of the total off-line process. Their responsibilities included pneumatic conveying, material intake, product cooling, sieving, dust control, buffer storage, process control and site wiring. A total of 17 systems were involved.
