GENERAL ENVIRONMENTAL
POLICY STATEMENT
1.1 The Company will keep itself informed of all legislation,
Regulations and Codes of practice on environmental matters that
are relevant to it's operations; make best endeavours to ensure that
it's personnel are aware of and adequately instructed in the requirements
of legislation etc; and take all other reasonable actions to ensure
compliance.
1.2 Whilst construction is in progress, the Company will take all
reasonable precautions, that are consistent with the Client's instructions,
against environmental damage, disruption or nuisance on or adjoining
its sites. It will at all times endeavour to keep it's sites clean
and tidy, and also any adjoining areas that may be affected by traffic
to and from those sites, and where practicable avoid pollution of
the air, ground or water by noise, fumes, dust or the disposal of
construction material.
1.3 The Company will, wherever viable and consistent with the Client's
instructions, use materials and products from sustainable sources
or that are reusable or recyclable.
1.4 The Company will make every effort to conserve the use of materials
and of energy and, where viable and consistent with it's Client's
instructions, collect waste materials for recycling.
1.5 It is the Company's intention to further the development of
it's environmental policy. Supervision of the policy will be through
established management structures.
1.6 The Company will prepare instructions for the implementation
of it's environmental policy on individual sites, and for each site
will nominate a competent person to supervise compliance with these
instructions, who will normally be the Site Safety Supervisor.
1.7 Any environmental problems recognised in carrying out the works
according to the Client's instructions will be brought to the attention
of the Client, and of any competent authority, with a view to finding
a satisfactory solution, so long as by so doing costs are not increased
or the project delayed, except with the Client's approval.
