Fairport was established in the early 1980's to service the needs of the expanding UK Coal industry. The decline of the coal industry led to a re-focussing of this expertise into the cement, quarrying and aggregate sectors.

This broad spectrum of expertise allowed Fairport to move through the manufacturing decline of the early 1990's which began a considered and sustainable expansion programme leading to, in 1996 the acquisition of an electrical and control systems capability.

The ability to provide a complete, multi-disciplined engineering and management service from entirely in-house resources has led to Fairport becoming the leading Consultant & Contractor in the UK's Bulk Minerals and Materials Processing & Handling sectors.
