Hinkley Point : Hinkley ‘C’ Nuclear Power Station

To facilitate the construction of the Hinkley ‘C’ Nuclear Power Station, sand and aggregates are transferred from ship to shore at 2000 t/h into a ground storage system. The sand and aggregate is stored in 11 separate pens totaling 50,000 tonnes.

Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) is delivered by road tanker and pneumatically conveyed into a 5000t storage silo. The GGBS is then transferred using X Pumps to the 4 concrete batching plants. The project comprised the Mechanical, Structural and Electrical works including design, manufacture and installation.
